Who we are. GradWay ("GradWay," "we," "us") is a campus navigation and student life app for iPhone, provided by Oakland Software Co. You can reach us at oaklandsoftwareco@gmail.com. We do not have a public mailing address, and email is the only way to reach us.
What this covers. This policy applies to the GradWay app. It does not cover third-party websites you open from the app, or the policies of your school.
What the app handles
Most of what you enter stays on your device. We do not run user accounts, so we do not collect your name, email address or password.

Information sent off your device
- Campus list and photos. The app downloads the campus list and campus images from our servers. Like any download, this reveals your device's IP address to the server that hosts them.
- Maps and directions. Searches, directions and map tiles are handled by Apple Maps.
- Weather. Your approximate location is sent to Apple WeatherKit to show the forecast on the Dashboard.
- Purchases. Campus Pro purchases are processed by Apple. We do not see your payment details.
- Email and feedback. If you contact us or submit a school, we receive the message you send and your email address.
GradWay does not currently use third-party analytics tools.
Walk With Me, location, contacts and notifications
Walk With Me. Your walk plan, expected arrival time, check-in times and the contacts you choose are stored on your device only. GradWay does not upload them, and our servers never see them. Reminders are scheduled on your device. If you do not respond to a check-in, the app prepares a text message for you. A text is sent only when you tap Send. GradWay cannot send messages on its own, and it does not notify anyone for you.
Location. The app asks for your location while you are using it. We use it to show your position on the map, estimate walking time, build directions, suggest nearby places, and save your parked car. For Walk With Me, we may attach your last known location to the text you choose to send. We do not store your location history on our servers.
Contacts. When you add a Walk With Me contact, you pick that person through the iPhone contact picker. GradWay receives only the contact or contacts you choose, and keeps their name and phone number on your device so it can prepare the text. You can remove a contact at any time.
Notifications. GradWay asks permission to send class reminders and Walk With Me check-ins. You can turn them off in iPhone Settings. Walk With Me alerts are sent as Time Sensitive notifications, which can appear while a Focus is on.
Camera and photos. The camera is used only for campus-frame photos and parked-car photos. Photos stay on your device, and are saved to your Photos library only when you choose.
Not an emergency service. Walk With Me does not replace 911 or campus police. In an emergency, call 911 or your campus police.

The app shows ads to users without Campus Pro. These ads are not delivered by a third-party advertising provider.
Links inside the app, such as your school's portal, dining and sports pages, open in a browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for tracking across other companies' apps and websites.
Retention, security, children, your choices and contact
Retention and deleting your data. Because most data lives on your device, you control it. Deleting the app removes the data stored in it. You can also remove a class, favorite, parked car, Walk With Me contact or plan inside the app at any time. Messages you send us by email are kept for as long as needed to answer you.
Security. Data in the app is stored in your device's protected storage and is subject to your iPhone's passcode and encryption. Downloads from our servers use encrypted connections. No app or system is completely secure, so please protect your device.
Children and teens. GradWay is made for college students and prospective students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices. You can change these in iPhone Settings at any time: location, contacts, camera, photos, notifications, Time Sensitive notifications. You can remove Walk With Me contacts in the app.
Rights under state laws. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, correct or delete personal information we hold. Because we hold little about you, a request will often return only your email messages to us. Send requests to oaklandsoftwareco@gmail.com.
Changes. If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
